About Us
Czech-Mate Livestock was started by Jim & Gwen Smith in 1984, originally specializing in building a respected Salers herd. In 2000 they began the new chapter of Simmental, using genetics sourced from some of the top Simmental operations, and a base of Gwen’s father, Valent Tkacik and his brother John’s Wittenberg Simmental Ranch herd matrons. Now the next chapter is being written as Jim & Gwen’s daughter AJ and her husband Andrew are stepping into the operation of Czech-Mate Livestock.
